The downhill run

It's almost November, it feels as though the year is slipping away really fast. DD will be one soon, then it will be Christmas, New Year......it all just rolls on.

73.7kg today...I ate too much yesterday I know. No more eating at friends or inlaws this week so I can control my "menu" more effectively.

It is supposed to rain on the weekend, rain a lot. I'll believe it when the rain hits the ground....

It's time to get DD weaned off formula and on to regular milk. Not sure how she will go, she is not a fan of regular milk. I don't agree with the recommendation to have babies off bottles all together by 12 months. I don't see the harm in a night time bottle to get them ready for sleep, or in DS's case, he had a morning bottle before breakfast. I find some of the MCH recommendations a little extreme at times, and I believe they add to the stress some mothers and babies experience. Guidelines are fine, but there is no need to try to enforce them on mothers. I like to trust my instincts as well as listen to advice. I feel quite balanced and happy with this approach, it works for me, and my kids are fine despite the fact I have not always done what the MCH recommends.

Writing a blog does not keep the house clean.......
